External Filter

I currently have a bluwave07 filter that is cycled after 4 weeks but it keeps coming off the back of the tank and rising to the surface even with new suction cups so I'm running out of ideas apart from getting an external filter

Can anyone either ad use how to keep my current filter in place because it seems to be a good one and is cycled ( also I'm going away for 3 days at the end of the month and don't want to risk it popping off while I'm away)

Or advise a good cheap external filter for a 180l juwel rip bow front

Which type and how do I use it ?

Actually I think you'd be better shoving all the media into an external and running that.

You should be able to find a decent second hand one, maybe on eBay. Decent makes to look out for include eheim, fluval and tetratec.

Possibly but got no spare money at the minute as just had a £400 bill on my car lol pulling my hair out with this filter it's being weighed down with stones on the top of it to keep it submerged as it just won't stick . Was thinking of 50mm suction caps but can't find them to buy I think to problem is the 20mm ones just aren't strong enough
