Actually, spares for Aquaone tanks are now going to be non-existent in the UK in the non-too distant future. For some un-known reason, they have decided to stop selling spares of anything, and have upped the price of all new hardware by 25%. Most dealerships realise that they cannot offer after-sales support without spare parts, and if you don't provide after-sales, your reputation goes down the swanny, hence almost everyone in the UK is now refusing to stock, order or bluntly deal with, so far as is possible while still supporting customers with whom have bought tanks from their store, Aquaone... It's a shame, Aquaone make lots of good kit, but their new "strategy" is simply un-workable for most dealerships now, and lack of parts will stop me recommending Aquaone equipment to anyone
Eheim Ecco's are about as reliable as Fluval 04/05 series, i.e. not very in the experience on most on there.
Eheim's Ecco range acutally is reated less highly than Fluvals by me, and regulars will know of my, erm,
dislike, of Fluvals... Ecco's aren't actually made by Eheim mind...
For cheap, reliable externals, you want to be looking at Eheim Classics, Tetratec's and Rena's (if you are lucky or can find a good one second hand). If you don't mind second hand filters, the Eheim pro ranges are also good, just avoid the un-proven electronic models in the Pro3 range
Aquaone's trickle filters are poor IMO. They are high-bypass and several of works customers have had them leak. When they work, they do a good job, but you have to be really on-top of maintenance to keep them thus. Issues with noisy feed pumps into the filter is also a common customer complaint

, i guess they arent going to tell you that when a noobie like me wanders in to buy a tank tho...... not getting any noises yet its very quiet but has only been running about 8 weeks or so.
