Hi All,
I am getting the Juwel Rio 240 this weekend and want to get a good external filter to replace the internal one that comes with it.

I was looking at the Fluval FX5 but I am not sure if it is going to fit in the cabinet as the filter seems quite large. Does anyone have this tank and know whether it will fit? Does anyone know what the dimensions are of the storage area's in the cabinet?

Anyone have any other recommendations for a good external filter that would fit the cabinet?

Thanks!

I would say that two Tetra Tech EX1200's would be fine for the Rio240 and they will fit in the cabinet :good:

I would agree with the above and get 2 tetratec ex1200's. I have 2 on my Rio 400 and they are excellent.

I actually swapped my fx5 for the tetratecs. The fx5 performs well but it's truly hideous. I hated the look of it. Like a giant dustbin. Plus the fx5 is too big to fit in your cabinet.

The tetratecs only cost £89 each too which is a bargin. The build quality and performance is brilliant. I have mine paired up with a 300watt external hydor heater and I'm so happy with it.

Thanks a million all, I will look into getting those instead!
