External/canister Filter?

Does anybody know any good external filters i could use for my 55 gallon juwel tank. It houses 3 red belly piranha so need good filtration but still keeping cost to a minimum...

piranha if kept correctly are one messy big fish out there. you will need to over filter since i assume you will add more piranha anyway. You should be looking at a Fluval FX5 i found them £165 new or £70+ second hand

Thanks for your reply, Yes iv noticed they can be messy lol i wanted to add more at a later date but was then informed they need 20+ gallons per fish so my tank would be too small to add anymore. Where would be the best place to purchase 2nd hand filters? Iv just had a quick look online and cheapest fx5 i found was £150 used .

I would risk 4 in 55g just to get threat down more then anything(20 gallon is just a gide not a rule)

prpblem with that link is the info is very old and out of date, it still says you NEED a 75G for even the small ones

Thanks for the link. I have read through this several times before. Although it gives you good info on piranha it doesn't give the info im looking for unfortunately. Just basically says 'good' filtration is needed
