if they were huose or garden plants then there wouldnt be o problem but......................i got some wood in tank that i want to have plants growing off them, anyone know of any links that would specialize in this method or do you know how to personally do it, i know it takes wire of some sort but want to get it right, dont want to buy any already done but do it myself
cheers

Java Fern and Anubias are types of plant that can be attached to bogwood. Some people use cotton that will eventually rot away, by which time the plant will have attached itself.

I used fishing line for my Java Fern.

Cheers, Dave.

fishing line how obvious..........MY GOD IM THICK

I use thread... like... sewing thread... not sure how else to put that lol.

Each to their own, I find fishing line difficult to tie :)

Fishing line, in my opinion works the best. It's strong and transparent (In most cases) which also means it isn't an ugly site in the aquarium.

I use rubber bands to hold the plant to bogwood. Once its attached, cut the band and leave the plant to continue, without the 'orrible rubber band there.

I use sewing thread, but a disadvantage is that a female endler of mine managed to eat a section, of about 1 and a half inches, which passed right through her. Then she tried to eat it again, but I removed it from her insides, as she seemed to be choking and not being able to swallow the end of it. Poor things. I think she's ok now, but they do enjoy picking away at my thread, however tightly I've tied it!
