Okay, well I have been thinking that it may be in my fishes best interest to take them to the LFS and exchange them for some other fish. The fish I would be taking there would be 2 Blood Parrots, one about 4.5 inches another about 5.5 inches, and a Common Pleco that is 8.5-9 inches. Right now they are in a 20 gallon tank. Yes, I know, WAY too small. My pleco came with the tank so that one wasn't my fault. And I bought the Blood Parrots before I knew anythinga bout fish. So I was thinking that if I brought these guys to the lfs that maybe I could get a few cories and some tetras or guppies, maybe even swordtails or platies. What do you all think about this? I was hoping to get a 55 gallon sometime so that I can keep my larger fish in that but I don't know when or if that will ever happen. So, if I bring these guys back how much credit do you guys think I may get? Yes, I know it all depends on the fish store but if you gave me like some kind of educated guess that would be really awsome. Thanks

Is the lfs you plan to take them to a large company one like Walmart or a small local one? Large/chain store company lfs's generally don't take fish in, even for free, while small buisness lfs's in my experience do. I would be very satisfied though if you can get a lfs to take them off your hands for free though as both common plecs and blood parrot fish are very common and difficult to sell fish now days for lfs and most won't take them in for free let alone pay for them.
Even if you rehome the parrots the common plec still needs that 55gal now though, my advice would be to try and rehome all 3 of them right now unless you can get a 55gal within the next month- a tank upgrade is always worth it IMO though   .

Generally you get nothing, or the pennies for a dollar deal when you trade in, especially fish like common plecs and parrots.

Okay, Well the store here in town is sort of a chain and sort of isn't... The actually store is an arts and crafts store but they have a little section in the back where they sell fish and fish supplies. The store is called Ben Franklin and all the other Ben Franklins I have been to also have a little fish section in the back. I'm not sure if the lady that runs the one here in town takes fish from people. I know that there is a sign up in the back you that says all animals that have been purchased can't be taken back. The answer you gave me wasn't really the one I was hoping for but I what can you expect? Oh well. But thanks for your help and comments guys.
