No surprise here but iv found possibly the worlds most aggressive tetra , I honestly never heard of these bad boys but they seem like little units , i had a Sunday trip to a local favourite and verbs it was closing time I had chance to talk to our George ( not his name ) just what I call him and he showed me videos of his buck tooth tetra ..... how ... why do these things exist and why have I never had them before .. are they as mental as they seem ? Are they literally a single species fish or ... Yano can I buy 6 ahahaha

See "Behavior & Compatibility" here: https://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/exodon-paradoxus

One nasty little (6") fish, lol
George has 16 in a 125 on there own , sorry with a common pleco he took from the store , the video he showed me was piranha like the striped a prawn in less than a minute, I was just wondering is that agression towards food like oscars or just unpredictable aggression last like a flower horn , I can only use cichlids as examples as iv never saw such ferocity from a tetra

They're just ornery little beasts, is all

I'd like to see a vid of his tank during feeding time...

I will be going back to the shop next week as iv been mooching in the quarantines n got my eye on a fish or two , I will try to convince him to share the video or even join hear as that would be easier for me lol , I can’t even say I like the look of the fish it was just amazing to see what seems like a Tera eat like staved sharks

Good plan, get him to join, and share his experiences with the little terrors...

If he joins I might actually learn his name , unless it’s been George all along Haha I’m really bad at names so if your a man your name is George Bert or shag if your a woman it’s bab darling or duck it’s easier that way

I've been reading about Central American characins recently and the reason you never see them is that a lot of them are scale or fin eaters and some of them are as predatory as these. Theres a species called Roboides as the males are actually territorial like a Cichlid! Exodons definitely cant go in with other fish, its a species only tank situation and even then expect to loose some in a dog eat dog situation.
