Ewwwww. White Fuzz On Bogwood

I went out and bought another light for my 4 foot tank. tank just had 1 T8 38watt bulb. now has 2 T8 38watt bulbs.

so much brighter

Anyways have noticed my large bit of bogwood has white fuzzy fluff growing on it, not sure what this is? or if it will harm fish? never noticed it till put new bulb in?

Anyone help?

its just fungus from the wood, it should go away in a few weeks/months. nothing to really worry about. Ive had the same thing and eventually it died off.

Yep fairly common, it will eventually go away. You can try taking it out and scrubbing it but it will probably come back. Doesnt do any harm though.

I boiled my Mopani wood and the it still come back
I just gave up hehe

Maybe you can get something to eat it if it is so unsightly. I used to have the same white fuzz on my bogwood. It disappeared one day after I got some applesnails for me tank.

Only one end of bogwood has it. So i have buried that bit under sand
