Hello, sorry to disturb this section but I am new to fish keeping and there's been a lotta trouble befalling on me in the first week.
So I bought this 10 gal tank from some dude next door and then I went to the fish store and saw these awesome fish with a sucker mouth. I thought "Wow, now that will look like those dangling things on cars in the tank." so I bought 5 of them. They look nice, the dude at the store said they're common plecostemus or something.
The next day I bought 7 parrot cichlids and they looked better than a goldfish. But they seemed to be only hangin at the middle and I still had free space on top.
So I bought a group of 8 hatchetfish the next day after that. But then it all started, the hatchets began to fly out of the water in the mornin and I had to keep putting 'em back. One of them flew into my darn coffee. The lil one seems to still be able to move but he refuses to eat.
Anyway, 4 days later, the water started to stink like a swamp so I removed some of it and put some back. I went to the store and they told me that I have too much leftover food in there and that I should get myself some cleaning team of fish.
They suggested corydoras so I got myself 6 laser ones. I liked the name. But apparently they weren't so tough as their name. They died within 24 hours and the sucker fishes left nothing of 'em.
The hatchets keep flying away when I change the water, it's madness!
And one of the sucker fishes started to do barrel rolls one night and then died. Probably because he ate those cleaner fish.
And today I woke up to find that one parrot cichlid took after the hatchets' habit and jumped outta the tank and, unfortunately found 'em dried up next to the coffee table. The hatchets were nowhere to be found, I think my dog or cat ate 'em all.
So what to do now? My other parrots seem to be whirling like crazy in the tank as well and the sucker fish have piled into a corner sucking on each other. What do I do, man? Help!!!
