Everybody Loves Cucumber!

hey everyone

i usually feed cucumber to my clown loaches i cut it down to the very soft parts and weight it down in the bottom of the tank however today for pretty much the first time noticed that the other fish have started eating..


male guppies,

cory cats,

danios!,

even the betta was partial to it!

definately worth a try the small cube is virtually gone!

Yeah, most my fish eat it too. The Zebra Danios are especially partial to a bit of it.

My cichlids love pushing around and nibbling on the cucumbers. My community fish aren't too fond of it yet.

Just don't leave the leftovers in too long as they will cloud up the water within a few hours.

Ahh yes ... get a Plec and unless you put too much in they eat it asap.


Another thing I tried recently which did made the water cloudy for about half hour was banana.... on here somene suggested I gtried they had it ripped to shreds and my plec soon had the tank clean. I am considering once a month as it will remain a favourite then.

Shelled pettit pois are also good as is coriander.

My guppies love peas, they are very comical when they feed off them!

lmao, i put cucumber in for my 2 bristlenoses it doesnt work tho, the discus all eat it so i try hide it and they will search for it they love it!!!

Tie a small piece of cucumber with a length of string to the Bristleynoses tails and watch the Discus follow them about...

Mine do the same things. When i add a cucumber the pleco shares it with the other fish.

My clown loach love cucumber. Although the tank has loads of baby snails at the moment so they are devouring them lol

My "goldfish" love cucumber more than they love peas. But sadly I gave them a brake from cucumber and peas becuse the last time i feed them these they acctualy had a fight and one ended up with a shreded fin.
