Esha Protalon 707 Turned My Tank Green

Hi

Has anyone tried to use eSHa Protalon 707 before?

If so did bottle A turn your tank water green? bright green.

I had some hair and surface green algae so I was advised by the LFS to use eSHa Protalon 707. I have a 350 litre tank so I followed the amount of 50 drops per 100 litres and immediately the water turned green.

I just want to check if this is consistent with other people's experience. I'm not using anything else other than the normal water dechlorinator.

Hi, I have used this before but it was a couple of years ago now though I can't remember it turning the tank green, isn't there two bottles in the box that need to be used together? if you have just added the water conditioner and then the protalon perhaps they reacted? I know that most Esha treatments should not be used in conjunction with water conditioners don't know why though I do know that I wasn't successful in treating my algae out break with it though

It did say in the leaflet that you have to take care about water conditioners but I don't know if that included dechlorinators - I certainly haven't added anything else. It is strange that it's turned the water green and I'd have thought that the leaflet would mention this!

It's been a bit of a day as we found one of the platys had cotton stuff at the top of her head and we only had hair algae before but the sand and glass was covered in quite a bit of green surface algae also.
I had 2 bottles of co2 in that I set up last week and I thought that it was the lessening co2 that caused the algae so I put two new bottles in today.

Problem is I did two new things today and so I don't know what the cause is of the fish gasping at the top of the water. We put the platy in the hospital tank and added this algae treatment, stopped the two new co2 bottles and we've done a 30% water change and they seemed better and I hope when I get up tomorrow everyone will be ok
