Hi, em i have 3 upside down catfish right, and 2 live in one territory and ones lives on its own... but i never see any of them. But this is not the problem.

Just now i saw the one that lives on its lonesome venture out and it is SOOOOO fat!!! i didnt even know if they were gettin food because the mollies tended to eat most of the cat fish pellets things i put down....

But its weird because 1. i NEVER see them and 2. its really fat... im worried it might be a disease or can this be caused because it was gettin the food and therefore being over fed???

its swimming fine but as i ssaid its really fat and its scarying me... its like its pregnant or somethin...

any suggestions!!

Don't worry mine is fat as well and don't worry it probably is getting lots of food especially at night!

As long as it is maintaining it's balance in the water and swimming ok fine, and scales are not sticking out like a pinecomb, maybe cut down on feeding which is hard as they make you feel guilty.

oo im definately cuttin down feeding, if that lil guy is gettin too much food then i dont want it to end up the way the pleco did... poor thing ... no more food for them in a wile. :p

Good luck on cutting down on feeding, hope the fish don't make you feel to guilty. :D

Breeding: There have been a limited number of successful spawnings in an aquarium. Females are larger, are paler in coloration, and have a plumper more rounded body, particularly when ready to spawn. Preparation with live foods, and softening the water to mimic spring rains will increase the odds for success. An overturned clay flowerpot or two, or even some PVC pipe, may be offered as a possible spawning location. Parents may be left in the tank after spawning, as they will tend to the brood.

The eggs hatch in approximately two days, and the fry will feed off the yolk sac, which they carry for four days. Upon the fourth day, they will begin eating freshly hatched brine shrimp. In two months the fry will begin swimming in the characteristic upside down fashion of adults.

see look what i found.. i might have a plump lil lady on my hands...
