ugh okay...the baby dipped my gravel vac into my bucket of mop water that had cleaner in it. How to do I clean it off so it doesnt contaminate my tanks or will hot water cleaning be enough?

I would suggest fully rinsing the parts that were in the mop water in ot water , as well as boiling some water and placing the parts in this too until the water goes cold, then again rinse off with some boiling water, just make sure it has been fully rinsed, maybe repeat 2 /3 times just to be sure, may be overkill but better to be safe than sorry.

yeah sterilise it as you would have sterilised baby's bottles and so on, repeated rinsings in boiling water
