I have noticed that everytime I use this stuff my fish get white dots that progressively get worse until I start treating them for ick; is it possible that it has ick in it? Any thoughts or ideas on this would be great.

NO. unless your bottle is contaminated, there is no chance of ick being in the bottle.

but it occurs to me, unless you are using RO or distilled water. you should not be adding this as the instructions suggest. the instructions are for those types of water, not tap water. the additives may well be adversely affecting your fish.

one question though. why, when it seems to cause ick, did you use it again?

I thought that it was the fish that I got from petsmart. I cured the tank and then got those fish out. I did a water change and used this stuff and it happened again this time to fish that I know didn't have ick to start with. I use RO for all water changes.

I'd need more information on how you treated the ick, to comment further.

I quarrentiend the fish taht had it and used quick ick which seemed to get rid of it on them and I treated the unquarrentined tank twice just in case it was in there.

when treating ICK, its important to treat all occupants, and the tank, two of three times over a period of 5-7 days.
you see ICK treatments dont effect the "spots" on your fish. neither does it treat the evil bug, when is laying on the tank floor. it only effects the free swimming form. this means, to eradicate an infection, you need to ensure you kill all the bugs. hence the treatment needs repeated several times.

so the fish, treated in the quarantine tank, have not actually been treated at all (unless you used repeat treatment on them). this would answer why the infection "seems" to return. and as to why it returns after water changes? my guess would be the stress of the procedure.

bingo, treat the tank

I have been treating the tank since I posted last but I don't seem to be getting anywhere with it. My loach still has it on top of that. Any medications you all would recommend?
