Are there benefits to adding Epsom salt to your tank, besides just normal aquarium salt? I've been watching a ton of youtube videos about wasting disease and most of the video is an API packet mixed with tank water and Epsom salt. I've also heard that giving your fish a bath inside of Epsom salt can help with a few other things, though would you rather keep your Epsom salt out of your main tank or just only keep it inside of your hospital tank?

I would use it in the hospital tank instead of the main tank, i do this because if their is 1 fish sick(others may not be) its better to try to fix that root cause before the other fish get infected, so taking out patient zero(first patient) and trying to heal/cure him/her, it will make curing the other fish easier as you can try multiple things for a specific bacteria/fungul/disease

I use epsom salt to treat things like Hexamita and constipation but I would only soak their food in it. I'd never recommend adding it to the tank as it can play hell with your water parameters. It's best avoided for that reason.

Aquarium salt is fine to use unless you have species that are sensitive to salt such as corydoras. If you have species that are sensitive that is best avoided too.

You can use table salt as a 'dip' to help heal wounds - by 'dip' I mean adding the fish to a seperate vessel containing some tank water and table salt and allowing it to sit in the mixture for 10 minutes before netting the fish back to the tank.

All in all, be careful using any kind of salt and always do your research first :)

Epsom salt is great as a bath to aid with constipation.

Agreed, I dont think my Loaches and Mystery snails would be too happy with salt in the tank.
