Enough Surface Agitation?

Hello all,

I have a Fluval Roma 200 tank and running a Aquamanta EFX400 canister filter (rated for up to 400L). All is running fine after my fishless cycle and now nearly fully stock, im running a air stone 24/7 at the moment and wondered if I have enough agitation for the oxidization from the filter alone?

As long as your filter is making the surface of the water ripple, then you don't need additional air.

What you're talking about is oxygenation, btw; oxidisation is rusting

I defiantly don't want any rusting haha! Its been a long day! Thanks guys! Now just to convince the Mrs we dont need it as she "Likes the bubbles" but the noise of the air pump annoys me

Currently Silent Cycling (going to add plants tomorrow) do I need to submerge my filter a bit more or is it ok?

Princessepoet, the outflow of the filter should be at or just below the surface of the water. This should cause the water to ripple which will help oxygen exchange. The air pump will also help.
