Enough Space For Corys?

Well after reading so many posts devoted to corys I am starting to pine for some! I am thinking of having a bit of a reshuffle of my community tank and was wondering if I have enough 'floor' space for them. The dimensions of the tank are 41.5cm(h) x 50cm(w) x 41.5cm(d), sand substrate, live plants. The tank mates would be one male betta, a snowball pleco, and ten cardinal tetra, as well as a few snails and shrimp (already have all of these, except for 2 cardinals). I was thinking about a group of 6 pygmy or panda corys. Would this work?

I would say yes to pygmy and probably to 8 of them but i would be slightly concerned with Pandas, perhaps just a little too small.

i thought pandas were bigger than pygmy corys?

I`ve got 7 bronze corries and 2 albino in a 110l,was told by the forum that this would be alright?

Well in my 110l ,i`ve got 2 dwarf gourami,8 glowlight tetra ,5 green fire tetra,9 corries and 2 pitbull plecos ,also shrimp and 3 bamboo shrimp[which have survived ,if anyone`s interested ] I do check my water regularly and do a 50 percent water change and gravel vac weekly also!

Maisy I'd say (in my relatively newbie view) you're right on the limit for stocking but as long as the filtration is good and you keep up with weekly maintenance you should be ok. Perhaps rehome the albinos so they can be in a bigger group? Also bear in mind that my tank is cube shaped not rectangular so you'll have more floor surface than me for your corys

The albinos will mix with the bronze quite happily, they are effectively bronze corys themselves with a different pigment and yes, maisy your stocking is fine and as mentioned you have more surface area and width of tank for the bigger corys to bomb around. Why dont you do a forum signature with the stock of your tank, i swear nearly every post i read from you, you list all your fish lol
