i am currently running 2 tetratec ex1200 on my rio 400 .

contents are . 5 fully grown silver dolar
3 adult angels
3 small clown loach
common plec medium
and 2 baby oscar

is this enough filtration in your opinion ?

128 inches of adult length fish, in about 100g of water, when they are all high waste, is a heavy stocking IMO. I'm not shure that two adults will be OK untill adult in a 5ft personally, so you may need to scratch one, but otherwise, the hardwear set-up looks like it will support the current stock fairly well :good:

Look for raging nitrate issues and having to clean out the filter more often than once a month. If you find that more than once a month filter cleans are needed, or that nitrate is suddenly raising faster than expected, you are seeing the warining signs of under-preforiming filters. If you ignore them, you will then see traces of ammonia and/or nitrite, followed by more serious ammonia and nitrite issues

I think you should be OK, but monitor it untill all fish are adults to be shure  There is 6X an hour turn-over, that qualifys as more than enough in most "overstocking" cases :good:

All the best

Thank you very much rabbut for a detailed response. i will keep an eye on nitrates. realise that 2 oscars is an overstocking but the are only 2/3 inches i will either upgrade or rehome 1 as they grow . thanks again
