This has become my favorite aquarium for plain old fun fish watching . I started out in December 2024 with five Endler’s and now have them beyond number ! This is as simple as an aquarium gets . No substrate , no cover and a simple floor lamp to shine on the Hornwort that really does grow like a weed . I thin it by half about once a month . There’s a LOT of fish in here so it gets a daily small water change to clean up the bottom and keep things fresh . Siphoning the water and pouring it back unceremoniously from my handy on hand water change receptacle takes only ten minutes . The fun thing about this aquarium is seeing the different male Endler’s that appear . There’s so many that I never see the same one twice it seems . Colors , fin shapes and tails are all over the scale ! Also , since it’s right in the front room next to the TV means I can’t not always watch it . Now , about those Mickey Mouse Platy’s , why don’t they thrive ?
