I was wondering if a shoal of pure male endlers would work, and whether they would be compatible with a male betta?
Thank you!
Thank you!
I would say yes due to there less round and colorful tails.
In my opinion definitely not! My endlers can be a bit feisty and nippy (though more the females than males) and bettas don't take too kindly to other showy fish. It may work depending on the personalities of the fish but have a tank either one could be moved to in case of problems.
Depends on the betta, you could try them just be prepared to sperate if they don't get on![]()
I dont think you can really "test personality" of a betta in the shop (more like signs of disease to be wary of purchase). I will say tho with all the bettas Ive kept, most have lived at some point with guppies (among other species) with ZERO problem on the bettas part as far as being overly agressive, more curious than nippy/defensive and only initially. Ive even tried to use bettas for guppy population control with no effect-fry survived just fine. I think the combo will be just fine for you. Make sure there are plenty of plants/decor just to break up the tank and keep out of line of sight(not that i expect a problem but if they get curious stress factor is minimized). In my opinion definitely not! Yeah, I do have a 30L biOrb in the kitchen incase I needed to take the endlers out. The betta certainly couldn't go in there!

Okay. At shops, what would be a good way to 'test' a bettas personality? I find that when you put your finger on the glass on some tanks, some bettas start looking pretty agitated but others don't really care. Would that be a good sign of how they are?
