Do endlers store sperm like other livebearers? How long will the female store the sperm? About how many babies do female endlers have at a time? Do endlers eat their babies like other livebearers? I've owned my enlders for quite a while now, but I've just left them in my 65 gallon community tank and let them do their thing and haven't really paid any attention to their breeding habits. I am wanting to breed more of them so i am wanting to pull a few females out and put them in my 29 gallon tank and am just wondering about how many babies I'll get each month and if I need to add a male in there or if they'll keep having babies for a few months. The seller that I got these guys from promised me they are "true" endlers but that's about all I know about them!

Check out the endlers r us site that will give you lots of info.
Yes they store sperm, not exactly sure on time frame opinion varies from my research.
Endlers do eat their babies, (seen mine do it to a weak one) but are not that likely to apparently but i transfer my fry to a net to be safe.
A full grown female can drop up to 30 fry young females 1-5 (mine just popped out 14 2doa:( )
Endlers r us is your best bet for identifying your endlers and getting more info good luck :)

will hold sperm and have several drops before male is needed again, they do have less fry than guppies, the 14 stated above is the average of endler drops, they do only have a gestation of 3.5 weeks rather than the usual 4 weeks of guppies

Do endlers store sperm like other livebearers?
Yes.

How long will the female store the sperm?
For several months.

About how many babies do female endlers have at a time?
The females are smaller and anything between 5-30 from large females

Do endlers eat their babies like other livebearers?
Same as most livebearers, plenty of food and space, they will leave most of the fry alone.

Sadily most endlers are already crosses and true endlers are still rare, if you can get a good pic then I'll do my best. 1st sign of a cross is usualy a long dorsal fin and very large females.

Thanks everyone. I will try to get a good pic of them. I am kind of curious if they really are "true" endlers or not, but it doesn't matter a whole lot to me. But it would be nice to know.

Man, those guys are hard to photograph! I got a couple good female pics, I think. The male pics are sort of blurry. Here's the best ones I could get:
