Hi eveyone,I got 4 endlers last week (1m , 3f) and now one of them is dropping fry :hyper: . I was wondering If I could keep the fry in the tank with the adults as I've read that endlers don't eat their fry but I'm not sure if the fry will get enough food.I don't have a spare tank and I can't get one but I think I have a breeding net sitting around somewhere.

thanks

chris

Leave them with the parents this time, but get yourself a breeder tank set-up for next time if you plan to keep the fry. I'm sure most will survive this time.

My endlers do eat some fry but not enough for me to notice it. I leave them all together in a 45 gallon tank and just scoop out the adults once in a while and sell them at a club auction. This is a few of mine.

how do you feed the fry in such a big tank?,I'm having trouble and I only have a 7 gallon

get fish flake and really crush it up in your fingers to a fine dust and then sprinkle into the tank-this is how i breed mine. Liquifry is useful for bulking the fish up quickly.

Sorry should have been more specific  I meant how do I give the fry food without the parents eating it.

ok thanks,How long should I wait untill I start to feed them? because at the moment they hide alot at the bottom of the tank is that normal?

When I toss in a pinch of flake, I crush the last couple of flakes and, as Piltdownpaul said, the adults go after the bigger chunks and ignore the dustier bits.
