A month ago, I bought what I believed to be a pregnant female Endler at my LFS. The day before, Endler's had been in the same tank but the next day, she was alone with some killifish. the LFS day staff wasn't sure what she was so sold her to me for $1.80. She had her babies the same day I brought her home. Anyway, now the babies are a month old and still look the same. I read in several places on the interner that Endler male fry start to show color at 20 days. Well mine have no color at all. They still all look like little females (I have about 15 of them). Now I am worried that they are not Endlers. Do mine just have delayed development?

Mine seem to vary in development, some batches color quickly & some do take a while. I was wondering the same thing a few months ago :) Are they in a breeder net? Mine seemed to develop quicker when I just left them swim free. I guess that depends on the tank setup though.

Thanks. I'll keep waiting. they are free swimming in a little 5g tank with some shrimp and dwarf cories to clean up the leftover food. I haven't lost one fry. These are my first livebearer fry! I had the mother in with them for the first 3 weeks and she didn't eat any (as far as I know). I put two dwarf cory fry in the tank and I think she may have snagged one of those so I took her out. She doesn't look very happy in the 15g tank by herself.
