well I've eventually moved all my fish into two community tanks and now am left with one measuring 30" x12" 16"

its still running and has been for two years, so the question is what to do with it

I quite fancy a species tank, something thats not too complicated or time consuming, and maybe left to it's own devices may just breed.

any suggestions

give me a good suggestion and i may just name one of the little darlins after you :alien:

If you ask me, a cory tank, this tank will be boring to all, exept the true lovers of cories :)

I would have... either a:
  • Puffer tank
  • Tiger Barbs tank
  • Tetra tank
I would probably have other species tanks but i cant think of them at the moment :(.

Guppies would make a marvelous species tank, and you could eventually remove all the females after they all breed and make a spectacular male guppy tank.

You could also get paradise fish, though your 25 gallon might not hold more than 2 pairs. :/

I'll say danios or killiefish

Puffer tanks are a lot of work. However, in that tank I'd go for a brackish setup with bumblebee gobies and a couple of figure eights ... but hey, thats just coz its my dream tank, prolly not yours :p

If you want an active species only tank, I'd definatly go for danios ... you could try making it a "species only tank" with different types of danios rather than just one type :dunno:

and I agree with Kevin, a corries only tank would be absolutely lovely as well *sigh* ... I dont wanna turn the 30 gallon I'm getting into a community tank!!!

You going for color or activity, or something else?

You want big display fish, or small ones?

Do you want to be able to breed the fish you get?
