Okay, the college I'm going off to in the autumn has no limit as to how large your tank can be! :D However, moving the tank seems to be a huge hassle, so I'm probably just going to take with me a 10 gallon and leave my precious 30 gallon at home. I want to keep just one really cool, slightly larger (I'm not talking a foot long... I mean bigger than a guppy or platy or something) fish to keep me company. I'm willing to do as many water changes as needed in order to keep a fish that may be messy or need very clean water. I will be taking my UV sterilizer with me as well.

So, what would you suggest me get? :)

Gourami? They are colorful!!

Swordtails? They can get up to 4inches.

Go african, get some shelldwellers. Neolamp. Multifasciatus make a good shell dweller for a 10.

I'm partial to all things catfish, so....

how about a small pleco? I have a few candy stripes myself. They only get to 4in, and are quite cute, IMO. Other thoughts would be a betta or two (With the tank divided in half, of course)

Good Luck at college. :)

Gouramis? or Some loaches only get up to 4 inches or so. Loaches are really exciting to watch and they seem to be always doing something mischevious such as hiding in the filter, digging in rocks, chasing other fish, and other varoius weird things. They love to be kept in groups. A pair is fine though.

Hi chibi :)

How about an African Clawed Frog, OR several of the African Dwarf Frogs? They are popular among students who live in dorms and are easily transported home for the summer or during breaks.

how about some fire bellied newts? or a crayfish... frogs... crabs

something unlike fish would be cool to keep you company at college.

good luck, and what are you studying at college?
