I posted in this section just for urgency because it is the most popular. My goldfish just got his fins sucked into the filter intake tube while I was awaying getting some food. I came back and he was still being sucked onto the intake tube. I turned off the filter and touched him and he came off. His fins are COMPLETELY shredded and bloody except for his tail fin. I'm pretty sure his gills are ripped inside out because there is fuzzy kind of stuff almost like fungus, but it can't be because it wasn't there 10 minutes ago. Is there anything I can do or what is the most humane way to kill him. He is laying on the gravel unable to swim, gasping.

I'm going to go ahead and chop his head off if theres no help in 5 minutes..

I think euthanasia is the best option.
Blunt trauma is the most efficient method. I. e get a brick and completely kill him. You must be very careful. Don't hold back. If you do it too light he will die slowly and painfully.

It does sound a bit grim for your goldfish - you might get more response if you post this in the emergency section tho.

Okay, well, I put him in a bowl with about two cups of water and 2 shots worth of vodka. It STILL took him 10 minutes to die in the vodka with his pectoral fins completely ripped off his body and the rest of him shredded. I felt bad so I was just about to take him out and chop his head off and he stopped breathing. And don't think that was cruel- the vodka may have stung the hell out of his wounds for a couple seconds. But since the alcohol content and his size, it would've worked as an anesthetic quickly. He would be poisoned but lose feeling after a couple moments. Thats why I chose to do that.

10 minutes!?!
That would have been painful as hell!
I would of put him in a bag and smashed him against a wall.

The best way to euthanize a fish is to mix clove oil in a small container using some tank water to render the fish unconscious before adding the alcohol which is what actually kills the fish. Unfortunately your fish will have died in a lot of pain over those 10 minutes especially with the extensive damage it had already suffered.
Please consider the clove oil route if ever you need to euthanize a fish again tho I hope it won't be necessary.

The clove oil is the best option.
Any fish death is sad
I found that removing the injured party to a separate bowl/tank add an amount of clove oil AFTER you've put the fish in. Its as quick and less painful to the fish as other methods.
Hope you never have cause to do it again.

Darn.... is there anything I can do to make sure my black moor doesn't get caught in the filter too? He is a little smaller, I don't think I will buy him another tank mate.

Doubt it. It was a low concentration of alcohol. I'll guess 10% or less. Also, he would've been "drunk" within a couple seconds and alcohol acts an an anesthetic. So no, I don't think it is the most painful way to go.

I euthanize a comet goldfish by placing him in a bowl and putting him in the fridge, lowering the temperature slowly makes goldfish go into a form of hibernation, after which you place them in the freezer and they die, but feel no pain.

I've heard this but it was nearly 5AM when this happened. There was a baby and several others sleeping and I didn't want to wake anyone up. I had some vodka and a fish bowl in my room.
