Hello,

I recently bought an elephant nose on sunday. Monday went fine, Tuesday went fine, I did my normal water change (10%) and everything went fine. This morning, I woke up, and my elephant nose was on his back turning in circles so I immediately put him in my little breeding box so that no other fish will bug him. This afternoon I got back from work and thinking he would be dead but no.. he is still alive.. so I took some of my bloodworms and I fed him. I saw him eat ! so ?? so then i started looking at him and noticed his mouth. Sunday we could barely see his mouth. But now, there is some sortof white contour around it and it looks wide open. I have no clue what to do guys. I really realyl hope someone can help me. Right now he is spinning on himself and his mouth is huge huge huge it looks almost as if its detoriating :S:S:S Please help me as soon as possible.. Or even add me on msn messenger, my email is joey_tmt@hotmail.com I would really appreciate !!!

Thank you, I hope its not too late for your replies.

Joey

I'm not sure what that would be. Most pet stores give you a 48 hour warranty,if yours does I would be on the phone telling them they sold you a sick fish.tell them when it started and hopefully they will replace him. I hope someone knows what it is so you can catch it before the other fish get infected.

How many gallons or litres is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
How long did you climatise the new fish for.

Is there any bleached out area on the mouth, cotton wool on the mouth, or strand of cottons on the mouth.
It's not sounding to hopeful I'm afraid.
Once fish spin in circles they rarely make it.
Spinning in circles can be bad water quality, ph shock, parasites external and internal, bacterial, the fish is dying.
