Elephant Ear Betta

I saw the sweetest little elephant ear betta in Maidenhead Aquatics in Ashtead (Surrey).... someone needs to go and buy him!!!  Shame I don't have a place for him.. his little fins were like big white ruffles.

Well no, they didn't have a label for it anywhere... all the betta were randomly in other species tanks.  I just googled the name myself and it was listed as elephant ear/dumbo.
 
The man in the shop did say "ah I see you've spotted our most expensive siamese fighter"  LOL

Thats an excellent tip, have been looking for more aquatic stores in or near my area in Surrey. Did not realise Ashstead had one, is that the one right on a corner as you go past it on the main Epsom Road?

Always thought that was just for ponds with koi and garden water features.
Nice to know it does a line in tropical.

It looked like quite a new shop... I suspect maybe it opened since the one at Morden Hall Park closed.

I don't know where it was.... my husband drove me and I didn't pay attention!  LOL  We went through Epsom then out the other side to Ashtead and it sort of sneaks up on you as it is partially covered by trees until the last moments.

They have koi that cost £225!!   I was a bit amazed.

Koi for £225, why?
 
Probably is a Ghost Koi that eats ALL of your other fish in pond and not called Ghost Koi for nothing, you can't see them once established in your pond! So you pay £225 for the privilege of having your fish eaten and basically an invisible Koi fish! LOL

The koi that was £225 was HUGE... seriously huge... some sort of Japanese koi.

My lfs has koi some of them are bigger than my leg effing massive... I've never had the balls to ask the price tho lol

No, for sure not.  I only have one alcove where tanks can fit and it is as long as my tank stand that holds both my tanks.  There is something in all the rest of the spaces.

I don't know.  I am kind of enjoying things being simplified and having the one fish in my 10 gallon.  I plan to be similar eventually in my 20 gallon with just 2-3 honey gourami (and shrimp and assassins).
