i was wondering, after thinking about getting another tank, how do you people cope with all the lights, heaters and filters plugs.i have a 4 way socket in each single plug socket in my house. their isnt enough plugs in my house!!!!!

extension on extension leads lol (very dangerous)

lol i have 3 aquariums in my room - they all have 4 plugs each! also all my pc stuff printas etc there is 6 plugs - thats 18 plugs in my room!!! my mum says its gonna blow 1 day!

Yup, me too. I have 4 tanks running in the living room, plus the tv, dvd player, stereo, and a couple of lamps all spread out over three outlets. Thank god for power strips and surge protectors.

what i did because all the watts were the same i jus took off all the plugs and put them into a junction thing, it was like £9 and you just wire them all into that.It also has a automatic cut off incase of water leaks etc, so it dos'nt blow up.

I have one plug for each fish tank with one of those multi socket things plugged into each, so one plug is suddenly turned into 6. Never plug extension leads into extension leads though.

Same here!

You shouldn't do it as it can overload the plug and make it catch on fire- do you really want to risk coming back to your house to find its burnt down? 'Tis very dangerous to do that, i knew someone whose house almost burnt down because of that.

1wall => 2 surge protectors > surge protectors... i have 2 outlets in my room w/ 2 plugs each, so i should only have 4 things lugged in, instead i have atleast 24 things plugged in. just not all r on at the same time, maybe 10 at the most r on.

I'm no electrician, but I'd imagine it's better to use one 10-plug lead than two 4-plug leads daisy chained. At least the 10-plug one has been made for 10 plugs!

whats the junction thingy? i might look into getting one of those.
whats surge protectors, sorry for being stupid, but im not electrician.
glad to know im not the only one having 4 way plugs in a single socket, every socket in my house has one.1plug instantly turn into 4. but i would never plug another 4 adaptor into a 4 adaptor already.

I'm lucky in the fact that my other half is a qualified electrician. He sorted all the sockets out before we set up our tanks.
