Ok i have a 30gl. with guppies and i was wondering if i can get a few electric yellows?...how many can i get?...telling apart male and female?

THANK YOU GUYS SOOOOO MUCH (electrics are so cute!~ )

I'm interested in them too. I am setting up a 55 gallon tank that has four 1 1/2 - 2 inch Blue Gouramis in it right now. My water is very high pH (approx. 8 ) and hard and that is what electric yellows seem to like (from what I've read). Would they make good tankmates for my Blue Gouramis?

Guppys would become feederfish for electric yellows, they are much to agressive for them.
As for male and females there is no proven fact on how to tell them apart besides when it comes to breeding.

You really need to wait until they hit at least 2 inches. My so-called dominant Yellow Lab just started to vibrate, so I'm assuming he is a male and there's at least one female but I still haven't figured out to which one he was vibrating to...

what that person said... guppies=death

electric yellows are the more peaceful of the mbuna. the group that i have live peacefully with a group of danios with no problems. they will become more aggressive when they have fry if they feel the fry are being threatened.
