Elder Wood

Anybody know if it's soft or hard wood?

Tried google. Google (for once!) does not have the answer. Tried Arnold Laver, they haven't the fogiest. Tried a local tree surgeon, also no idea. About to ring the council and see if they know.

All this to find out whether I can put a branch of it in my tank or not! Hardly seems worth it LOL
