So, thanks to whomever started the poll for me. Eheim is the vote....

so, one more question....If money is not an issue (well to some extent) but I am more concerned about durability and water quality for my 65 gallon 26x18x24 that is stocked with 2 angels and 60 other fish the size of tetras and danios.

Would you choose the classic 2217 or a pro series. Thanks.

I personally would choose the Pro series, but the 2217 should be sufficient so long as it's properly maintained. It's a matter of your budget. The pro series is definately higher priced.

I am willing to pay it if it is worth it. I have spent a lot of money on my tank and although I don't want to break the bank, I love my fish and don't want to sacrifice either.

I heard the pro series wasn't constructed as well, is that true? My concern with the classic is that is will go away soon.

Thanks for the quick response, Everyone here has been so helpful!!

I haven't heard hat about the pro series. I actually haven't had an eheim in years. Not because I don't want one.....that's for darn sure....but mostly due to financial issues. One is defiantely in the future formy 55 gal though. My birthday's comin'! LOL
Anyway, I truly doubt the classic will "go away" in the near future. But.....if your willing to spend the money, by all means go witht eh Pro. But....should there be truth to the conctruction issues with the pro....I would defiantely find out for sure before I spent the money. Like I said...I hadn't heard that.

I have a pro II 2026 and it's great.. very solid and well built. I would definitely recommend it.

Shop around on t'internet a bit to look for a good price.. I found that all fish shops I looked at were hugely more expensive than online for eheim stuff. In my lfs, the 2026 was £160 with media, I ended up buying one from Charterhouse-Aquatics for just £90!!

If you have the money go with the ProII. Built a little more solid with more bells & whistles than the Pro series, either of which are easier to maintain than the classics. Any of them keep running with little maintenance in my breeding setup. I'm running a 2222, 2224, 2026, 2213, and a little ecco that I can't remember the number on, pretty sure it's the smallest one.

if money is no object id get a pro II thermo filter that way u get rid of the internal heater as well ive got one and she's still going strong after 5 years without a single day off! :good:
