I have a fresh water Eheim thermo filter which I used on my fresh water tank, can I use this on my reef tank?.
I know Eheim sell thermo filters specifically for salt water but is this just a marketing ploy or is there a difference between them.
All I can think of is maybe the salt corroding the heating element.
Is the heating element in the salt water filters different?

Any advice please :/

I had to look into this a bit. IT raised my curiosity.
It does seem like they might be pulling a fast one here. And if there is a difference, I don't know if I would approve of their freshwater model

All in all, even taking in Eheims reputation for quality products, I owuldn't touch it.
First reason, heater and filter all in one. If I want to replace one or the other, or have to due to breakage, You have to replace both.
Second. That is a lot of cash for only 1000l/perhr!!
