heya I'm going to be ordering a Reactor from Aquamas

but need to specify what size connector I need,

what would be best for the Eheim2236 I believe the internal hose is 12mm

but the site I order from recommend

"When ordering, there is an input box for comments (Bemerkungen).
Here you can specify 12mm. Better is 14mm for your hose. Then there is no loss of flow. The connections can be changed."

But they don't know what cannister I have, Can anyone agree with what is said?
I mean I can change them myself if they are wrong but still...

thanks in advance...

p.s the Reactor is from Aqauamas...

Hi ShoC,

Not completely sure I understand your question but I'll have a go:

If they are just making a statement of the obvious, that a larger hose allows more flow than a narrower one, that doesn't help you much because the cannister engineers will have picked a hose diameter knowing that the pump can only go so high and won't be able to make use of the larger diameter anyway, I would think.

Reading your message, I'm not sure if you are concerned which diameter will match up correctly with your eheim. One thing I remember doing when eheim was new to me was measuring across the end of a cut hose. When the give those mm numbers (can't remember exactly, but like "14/18" or something) I figured out by using a mm ruler that indeed it meant they were giving the inner diameter then the outer diameter and two thicknesses of the plastic, just like what you see when the mm ruler runs across the cut end of the tube.

Doesn't really make sense to me that a reactor mixing in CO2 in the input line (so that the pump impeller can further break up the tiny CO2 bubbles, which is great I think) would cause one to need a larger diameter set of hoses. Does anyone think that?

the reason for the reactor is to avoid damage to the cannister Via Co2, And it's accidic and Im noticing alot of noise now being produced via my cannister over time,
As well as a Reactor is much more efficient :)

Im after the internal Diameter of the Eheim Eco2236. I believe it's 12mm
but I was recommended 14mm which would not make sense as I'm more likely to have a flood =)

but as they said I can manually change these if I want
