I have recently purchased a 1l pack of this to use in my jebo 50g tank with 2 tray filters. In the instructions it says it can be reused a couple of times, I'm thinking this may be conservative and that it can actually be re-used for a lot longer? Anybody got any experience on how long it can be re-used for? Also how often should it be cleaned? Recommendation is to wash 2/3 in aquarium water and then add back to the original 1/3. Finally can I keep it all in a net filter bag.

Had mine running in my Ehaim canisters for the last 4 years, i rinse it in tankwater 2 or 3 times a year and put it back in again. You only really need to wash filters when their is a visable drop in flow from the filter indicatiing that it is clogged.

Yep the bio media is pretty safe to be left and never replaced. I give mine a "swish" round in tank water about once a month when I take my filter apart to change floss, free up baby shrimp living in there and rinse out the course mechnical filters (also in water tanking from the tank).
