Hey

Noticed the filter was rattley. When I moved the filter slightly I felt a wet patch on some wood it's sitting on.

Upon inspection, it seems there is a small leak from the elbow in the bottom of the filter. It's not coming from the tube as it's dry. Plus you can see water escaping from this elbow join.

Is there anyway of tightening it?

Jubilee clip maybe or cut the pipe for fresh end to insert into the elbow perhaps.

hey i had this problem..

i unscrewed the elbow from the canister
applied some ptfe (plumbers) tape on the threads to make a better seal

i then screwed the elbow back into the canister BUT NOT TOO TIGHT!! THE CANISTER MAY CRACK

hope this helps?

Hey

I'll give this a go at the weekend. Could this be the reason my impeller is making. Noise?

The impeller will be noisy if there is a leak due to air getting in to the system.

I had a similar leak with my 2213 elbow.  The elbow had simply been twisted around until it was loose in the socket, so I just had to tighten mine back the other way until the seal was tight again.

So i assume best way to do this is to switch it off, turn off the pipes and disconnect them, then turn that elbow round until it tightens?

Might do this tonight.

That's what I would do :)

Many thanks. I switched the filter off then just disconnected the bottom tubes allowing me to screw the elbow in.

The filter is still rattling though. will need to open it up soon.
