Eheim Aquaball

Yesterday I got a nice new aquaball from ebay, so read the instructions, which were sparse, and put it in the tank.

It worked fine, or seems to, but it vibrates slightly, which is audiable from the other side of the room. Its like a fast clicking noise.

I contacted the seller, who i have to say is less than helpful and said contact the suppliers

Just wondered if anybody else had one and has the same problem ? Is it a problem or just the way it is ?

I have tried everything to cure it, even ran just the head on its own and thats still the same.....any ideas ?

I dont own one but i have had pumps that have managed to get a piece of substrate (small gravel) stuck around the impeller. Just a thought.

I took the impellor out and it seemed ok....im stuck really.

My aquaball is amazingly quiet. I have the venturi on full and the noise of the bubbling is much louder than the sound of the pump. I can't hear anything from further than a couple of feet away. It was the original Juwel pump I had noise problems with.

I had the same problem with mine. It seems to be that the impeller isn't sitting in the right place or is vibrating off something. I played around with the impeller and mine is now quiet as a mouse.
