Eggy Female .....is It Dangerous?

Speaking as one who knows nothing, I've seen it suggested (BettaTalk?) that if not breeding for improvements but for fun or other reasons, culling most of the eggs by carefully lifting them out with a spoon is the way to go, as no suffering is then involved.
If the circumstances aren't right for babies, couldn't the eggs simply be disposed of prior to hatching?
Another thing is that I've also heard that breeding can be dangerous and that even experienced people have sometimes lost fish, although I gather this depends on individual fish temperment as well as attentive and correct handling, and doesn't seem to be a concern here.
I suppose as long as the recommendations and correct produres are carefully followed, it's safe enough?

Problem is if this fish is so eggbound she's going to die anyway so any chance is better than just leaving her to the inevitable. Just hope it works
