So my angels have once again laid and fert some eggs (I assume the white ones are fert eggs? there are white and clear)

I was supprised to see them still there this morning, as usually, they've been eaten by morning. Is there anything I can do to help protect the eggs?

They're in the 44 gal with mostly little tetras. No chance of rehoming them in their own tank.

ok so the clear ones are fertalized? They were all clear last night and then some were clear and some were white this morning.

But is there anything I can do so they don't get eaten? How long before they hatch?
Hopefully they're still there when I get home from work.

hmm well they're mostly ALL white now. :(
Wondering if I have two females. Would a female go behind and rub on the eggs after they were laid?

white is unfertilized, clear is fertilized :good:
do not worry, when my angels first laid eggs it took three attemps, 1st atempt got eaten, second attempt same as you all fungi, third attempt same again, then next time hey presto,,takes roughly 2days to see wiggling eggs, then a further 3-4days before free swimming

if the female lays the egss then shortly followed by the male who sprays them :good:
if it was two females they would be both laying eggs.........
do you see there breeding tubes at base of fishes?
do the tubes look the same?

I didn't see the eggs laid, I just saw them after and the one angel rubing on them. Not sure if they look the same, can only see the one rubing on the eggs.
They've laid eggs about 3 or 4 times before, although these ones have lasted the longest without being eaten.

ive since descovered its hard breeding and rearing angels, lord knows how many attempts i took before i gave in and sold them,,,,since discovered that the male was the one that once they were free swimming he would eat them, strange as all the caring and fanning of the eggs that he did was really impressive,,,,give it time, you might be unlucky by having two females but, id say best way is to have solely these two in the tank, like others say hand rearing in a tank alone would be best bet :good:

Well we weren't really TRYING to breed them. Just since they're there, I'd like it if some would survive.
Yeah they're both pretty protective. If I put my face next to the glass to take a peek one of them will zoom up to the glass at me lol Like Back off woman!

I was just hoping that since the eggs are there, they may survive and hatch. But apparently not.

I use a divider. Keeping the female with the eggs so she can fan them so they don't grow fungus. She will move them from leaf to another leaf once they start to wiggle. Then she ate them or they died or something. I only tried to keep them once though. My male will swim up to the glass and try to attack my face if I get near, the female doesn't mind me though :hyper: White/cottony= infertile. Clear/yellowish after a day or two mean they are fertile.

Well they were gone by the time I got home.
They were actually laid on the filter tube.
They were all white, hmmm that sucks.
