I have an amazon sword in my tank that I added a month or so ago. It seems relatively healthy, but there's this layer of bluish-greenish algae growing on it in some places. I'm kind of new to plants... Will it hurt the plant? Can I try to get it off without hurting the plant? Or is it just a cosmetic issue?

You can wipe it off if you want. Chances are it would be ok anyway, but you might as well keep light from being robbed from the plant.
