Edit -> I Don't Think It's Ich Now, What's It Got?

Check the fish over for very tiny bubbles on there body and fins, that can sometimes be a sign of a whitespot break out.
Check the gills over to see if they look pale with excess mucas on them, or red and inflamed.
Wouldn't bother with the melafix only good on cuts and wounds.

Hmmm ok, I'm getting some for my Betta tomorrow and thought maybe it might help the other tank too.

Are there any pictures anywhere of what I'm looking for?

When you get your ich medicine then turn up the heat about 78-79. But don't do it until you treat because raising the temp quickens the ich cycle. The white spots burst and then the ich is in the water thats when you can kill them with ich medicine. Thats why you raise the temp so you can get them at their vulnerable stage.

Well, I didn't end up getting any medication as I couldn't get to Horsham. But as it turns out it's ok, the fish has stopped flicking and I can't see any signs of anything on it anywhere. So at this point I'll just keep and eye on it and the rest of the fish to see if anything goes pear shaped!
