Eco-complete And Sand Infront

I dont know where to get it in the US but see if you can get some ADA Bright Sand. It's not as fine as play sand and will then not mix so much with the Eco. Use a partition to keep the 2 separate fi you want.

If you like it and it doesnt cause a rise in pH or KH then sure go for it :good:

I know virtually nothing about anything to do with marines, but I think their sands are usually made from coral and will give you a high, buffered pH.

A lot of people from the US on this forum talk about using pool sand. You could try Googling this.

Yes, pool sand works well....or so I've heard. We have a sand filter for the pool and I am gonna try to steal some this spring for one of my tanks. It is inert and a little more coarse than play sand so it wont mix with larger gravel as fast.

I wouldn't use "marine" sand. This is usually made from crushed corals or the like, and used as a buffer to keep the PH up.

I get a huge bag of sand (I think 50lbs) at Lowes for about $4. It looks awesome and is really cheap!
