I have found a few of THESE on ebay - 30 plants for less than £10! Can they be anygood?

Looking down the list, are the most of them easy to grow? I would google each one to find out, but it will take ages! Maybe somebody with experiance can tell me from a glance if they are easy to grow/ low light/ hight light or what ever.

Thanks¬!

IMO they arn't really worth the money, as there are a fair few non aquatic plants in that selection. I have also heard that they don't come in good condition half the time and the you don't always get what you see.

it doesn't seem too bad, but you'd only get like 5 sticks of cabomba, i can get 5 big bunched of atleast 10 plants at my LFS for £6 plus i get to see the actual condition of the plants before hand.

you would need to check see if they use copper if you have inverts :good:

There are a few non-aquatics on that pic and you'll also end up with small portions of lots of different plants which would look a bit odd in my opinion. Not a bad price though - even if you're just looking to experiment with different species to see what works.

Best ebayer in my opinion would be last trading post, just when you go to purchase put a note on the purchase saying what plants you would prefer and he'll fill it out for you.

Plants come in great condition within reasonable time, since it's so cheap I usually buy a much bigger pack than I would ever need and select the ones I want and give the rest to friends.

Thanks for the replies.

These 'non aquatic plants'....what does it mean for my aquarium/plant? Will it die straight away, or will it just not grow or what?

I guess i will have a look at trading post and see what he has

Thanks!

They won't die straight away but won't grow and will eventually rot.

Ah ok. I have some in my big tank to put some colour in - nice big leaf red plant! Any suggestions of a plant that will do well in a hi-tech tank that has big leafs and is red?

On the other note, my 90L......going to go for a total rescape......so who wants to start suggesting plants? I am thinking a mix of colours as currently my big tank is just green (with my red non aquatic plant)!

Looking for plants which are low maintenance as my big tank takes up so much time haha

This isn't as good as it sounds, 5 stems of the plant make one plant, its actually 6 plants that your getting with 5 stems making up each plant.

Another vote for Last Trading Post on eBay, very high quality and a good mix of stem and rooted plants. Add a note saying what your lighting situation is and they try their best to pick a good mixture. Can't fault them.

I bought 20 of these on Friday.. I got them today.

20 plants for around a fiver I think.

I thought I was buying 20 mixed live plants.

What I actually got was 20 half dead, half brown leaves from plants - only two had any roots at all, and only the javas had no brown.

the seller was SCL aquatics.

I'd recommend Aquafluer plants, they're £2.99 a pot at most places and are of good quality, you get a decent amount of plant mass per pot.

i have had mixed luck from ebay plants, in my opinion get as big an order you can and only expect to use half of it as some could be non aquatic or bad quality but a lot are quite good.
