Hi Everyone!

I am new to this forum and fish keeping as well. I have a 10 gal tank with a 2 in EB Jack Dempsey, 1 in Green Terror, 1/2 in Jack Dempsey and a 1/2 in Convict. I noticed today that my EBJD was swimming around with one fin clamped to the side of this body. This isn't a consistent thing with him though. It is on and off for him. I have nothing in the tank but gravel for them because if I put a rock or plants or anything for the fish to hide behind the EBJD won't eat. He just stays in hiding. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

10g???

EB Jack Dempsey - 8-10inches long as an adult
Green Terror - 6-8 inches as an adult
Jack Dempsey - 8-10 inches as an adult
Convict - 3-4 inches.

The only thing in that tank that is close to suitable for you tank is the convict, and that is only if he is the only fish in there. Your EB jack is probably injured from lack of space and aggression in such a small confined space. My best advice is to rehome all the fish and get a betta, or some neons for your tank. To accomadate the fish you have as adults you need 100+ gallon tank

As said you have some potentially big aggressive fish in a very small tank, clamped fins would suggest a water quality issue (which unfortunately is to be expected with the stocking) and the EBJD being by far the most sensitive species is obviously the most likely to show signs,
