what are some easy to keep plants?
That dont require Co2.
they will be kept in a sand substrate.
And i think the lighting is high?

I like the planted look, so i want some plants that are easy to keep and will last a long time

Do you plan to use fertilisers? Exactly how much light is there?

I could use ferilisers if they require it.
I cannot remember exactly how much light it is as i got it a while back.

do you get much algae growth with having high light?
id say anubias are easy, vas and most crypts are low maintenance plants. if youre willing to use ferts then you could dose wih flourish excel too for a carbon source.. that will open up your choice of plants!

well i think it was many reasons, as i got the tank from family friend who was keeping 4 goldfish in it.
she said she wanted to get rid because she hasnt looked after it for a while, and water changes rarely. So when it got it it was covered in black hair algae and green algae on the back of the wall. which i scrubbed off, and replaced every last thing with hair algae just today.

I dont mind getting fertilizers.

I worte the exact light when doing my w/c but i lost the paper.... but i think it was W15...

Agree with the direction the others are going. You do need to measure (find the wattage on the tube, see how many watts per US gallon you have, consider how reflective your reflector is, consider the depth of the tank.. all that lighting skill stuff) your light and understand where you are with it.

There should still be a list of easy plants from George Farmer somewhere in the PARC, I remember that as a good list. Without even looking I tend to think of the most obvious ones as Java Moss, Java Fern, Anubias, Swords, Crypt Wendtii and then there are some stem plants and others.

~~waterdrop~~

Here's the list. GF posted the list, but I wrote it... :D Not the original one, that was Rose, another member.

On the light this is all it sad.
POWER-GLO
18"/46cm
15W T8
Made in China

what size tank is it sorry? are there two of those bulbs/tubes? power-glo are the Hagen brand. Depending on what ballast theyre run on and how old the tubes are will alter the actual amount of light you're getting. I would jst buy some cheap plants for now and see how you get on. Lighting may not be an issue but other things might be, or not! Your lfs may well have some plants already established on some bogwood such as java fern or anubias.. try some of these to begin with :good:

I would start with Java moss, Java fern and Anubias, in that case.. If you like, also pick any random (make sure one of the easy ones!) Hygrophila or Cabomba or suchlike as well.
