im thinking of getting some live plants.my plastic ones are turning a horrible colour.tbh tho i want plants that are easy to care for.that dont need me to add co2 and only require light.i will add nutrafin plant gro tho if this will be ok.i have never kept plants before as i was always worried about them rotting.

many new plants rot, as they get grown out of water, they take a while to adjust under water, while the leaves rot off, then new growth comes through lush and green in its underwater form.

Visit the planted forum for some ideas, there is a lot of information there.

That said, if you are getting algae/dirt on your fake plants, what makes you think you wont get it on real plants? :)

very true :good:

As a rough guide choose dark green leafed plants as these require less light and will be more hardy. I dont have a co2 system and ive had success with java fern, moss balls, anubias, vallis,Windelov fern, java moss. you can get these all cheaply on Ebay. :good:

I have just added some anubis and java fern to my tank bout 2 weeks ago because I wanted some easy plants, and they are doing quite well. I am not adding any ferts or anything like that.
I must say though they do look better than plastic plants :good:
