had my malawi tank set up for around 3 months and everything was going great but iv had a fish die every day for the last 3 days....? the water is spot on (8ph, 0 amonia, 0 nitrite, 5ppm nitrate, 29 degrees) the latest fish to look sick was fine yesterday and now he's near the top of the tank looking ill. i did introduce some wild caught fish a around a month ago and 2 of the females died displaying the same symptoms (not eating much, acting weird) but the male is still going strong.... and since then this is the only time iv lost fish so im wondering if the'v been carrying some disease...?

help me plz....

:-(

It's possible a disease was introduced but my first thought was that maybe the temp is a bit high. Should be more like 24-26 for these fish. The higher the temp, the less oxygen in the water....

Also, what are you feeding them?

Sounds like there is a parasite in your tank, any signs of laboured breathing, flicking and rubbing against objects, also check for internal parasites at the anus, what does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet, is the anus red and inflamed or enlarged, can you see anything prutruding from the anus.
