My sister recently added two dwarf gouami's to her tank which already 2 moonlight gourami's, 2 other dwarf gourami's and and a red robin gourami. Within a week all the gourami's in her tank have died. THe rest of her tank - catfish, pleco, rainbows, bolivian rams, cherry barbs all seem fine. I've checked all of the water and it is fine (ammonia = 0, nitrite = 0, nitrate = 30 (bit higher than tap water)). I've suggested that she add some anti-internal bacteria treatment as I know gourami's get internal bacteria problems easily but her gourami's have now all died. Any suggestions - is there a gourami diease that her tank may have?

There was no sign of any illness or bullying - just sudden death

Any advice appreciated

Thanks
Andy

Did she quarintine the 2 new fish before she added them to her tank? If not, they were probably the cause.

Right any sign of flicking and rubbing on objects, red inflamd or pale gills, what does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet.

Unfortuntely she doesn't have a quarantine tank. No sign of flicking etc, fish seemed to eat as normal, she didn't notice any of them going to the toilet.

:(
