Dying Fish

Help. 'established' tank with no problems, all ph, nitrate levels etc normal. Suddenly, Some fish getting fin rot and ulcers and others just dying for no apparent reason. There is a white fleck that has appeared in the tank and on the glass. 4 Guarami's 2 Barbs 8 Neons in largish tank with no previous problems.

We have been advised to treat the tank with an antibacterial treatment which we have been doing for 2 days but ther are no changes and the fish are still dying.

I would suggest using Melafix and Pimafix together or using Mardel Coppersafe. Also do a small water chamge just to be on the safe side.

When you say fin rot, how do their fins look ?
I know it depends on the type of fish, but I would have thought there is a fair chance your barbs are nipping, you should usually keep them about 6 - 8 in a group where they wont nip.
