Dyed Rams?!

No I don't want to buy any I hate the idea of dyed fish but I cant find ANY rams with colorations like mines. They were sold to me as blue rams but they have very obvious pink streaks on them yes I am aware the photos are crap but its just to look at the color on the fins.

You don`t have Blue Rams, you have Bolivian Rams

They are bolivian rams not blue or GBR's microgeophagus altispinosa if I remember but easy enough to find info on em

They are Bolivians as Lisa rightly said. Much duller than German Blues but they can gain wonderful colour on their fins so no they are not dyed. Take a look at GVILLEGUY's brilliant Boivian Ram

Ok another question. I'm returning one to the LFS I purchased them from as he sold me them as a pair as opposed to what I received, two very angry mature males, they've been tearing my tank apart since and I think they may have been nipping at my cories too as a couple of them seem to have shorter whiskers than before is there a possibility that the rams are to blame and if so will this nipping cease once I get rid of one of them.

Are your corys kept on gravel ? Do you vac the substrate ?

Are you sure they are males ? They can still be a pair as well if you like them they are still rams, same genus different species thats all

I keep them on sand, rounded pebbles for decoration, planted tank, theres nothing in there for them to be damaged on, my sterbai had barbels that were a wonder to behold now they are wee stubby looking things I feel so sorry for him ;(

Cool - my Ram got used in a thread without me doing it!

That was the brightest colors that Ram ever had, and they faded slightly after a couple days. But he still has great coloring for a Bolivian.

Your Rams might just need some time to settle out their tank territory. Did you create some cover (cave, pot) that they can utilize to sort things out? Also, I would be surprised if they were attacking your Corys - the BRs are known for being peaceful to fellow tank mates even as they nip at their own kind.

My experience with Bolivian rams has been beautiful, my experience with GBRs has not.

I think you're better of with Bol Rams over GBRs.

A word of advice though, if you put the Bolivian Ram in a tank with a dark substrate, that pink comes out even more it also displays a lot more patching. I absolutely love mine, adore him something rotten though he isn't my favourite in the tank for some reason and oddly that goes to my Bronze Corys probably because of their light pink bellies.

Anyway, you can give them some sort of hiding space like half a plant pot or a cave and that will do them the world of good, mine however never uses his cave EVER. He seems to prefer sitting in between the leaves of my Amazon sword.

I doubt the Ram went for the barbels though, it is possible but the likely hood is it would of went for its fins/tails as that is much easier to attack from above.

They will settle in, in time but a pair would probably be better than a trio, though don't take my word for it.
